Upcoming Concerts: Baltimore Fishbowl’s Preview

Sep 10, 2025

Ahead of our 60th Anniversary Season Premiere concert, Gil and Orli Shaham on Sunday, October 5th, Baltimore Fishbowl has written a preview including the following statement from Orli Shaham:

“My brother Gil and I are excited to come back to Shriver Hall Concert Series, where we’ve enjoyed playing in the past… We’re delighted to bring to Baltimore a program centered around the pianist and composer Clara Schumann, and the warm and visionary musical world that she created for herself and her compadres.” The siblings performed at SHCS as part of a chamber ensemble in April, 2007. This will be Gil Shaham’s seventh performance with SHCS—his first was in 1998 with pianist Akira Eguchi.

Later in October, we will present Sphinx Virtuosi, an 18-member string ensemble from the pioneering education, advocacy and professional arts organization, Sphinx. The ensemble is joined by Avery Fisher Career Grant winner, cellist Sterling Elliott, in their Baltimore debut. Baltimore Fishbowl captured a statement by Andre Dowell, Chief Programming Office of Sphinx Organization: “We at Sphinx Organization are thrilled to present ‘Visions of Peace’…This powerful collection of music explores themes of unity, harmony, and hope, aligning with our shared mission to uplift and connect communities through transformative artistic experiences.”
